In couples therapy, I teach you how to communicate better. You will learn how to listen non-reactively as well as express your needs in a way that can be heard. This process will stop your blaming and increase the level of trust and empathy between you. As you learn how to negotiate, you will see how each of you can be a part of every solution. This will strengthen your emotional bond as well as help you maintain your individuality. I also have each of you work through any unresolved family patterns that you bring into the relationship. You will then be able to be more present with each other as you talk through those difficult topics. Relationship and marriage counseling can be very satisfying as you learn how to respect each other’s views, negotiate differences, and nurture each other’s strengths.
