Actually, there is.
Anxiety is a feeling that gives us information about how we respond to stress. If we use it productively, it can tell us what we need to do. It can motivate us to change our approach, our thinking, and our perspective. It helps us to make change, do better, and stay on a goal.
If you had no anxiety, it would be a concern. That can be the problem with using drugs and/or alcohol as a solution. By taking away all of the anxiety, it can make you lethargic and unproductive. The drug/alcohol represses what the anxiety is saying to you, so important issues aren’t addressed and lives fall apart.
When anxiety becomes moderate or high, and chronic, it can become a real problem. Especially if you deal with it daily, and it restricts your life. This is the type of anxiety I am going to talk about in future posts. So stay tuned…
