New Year’s Resolutions; How to make them Stick

Have you made your New Year’s Resolutions? What is your success rate for resolutions from past years? Do you start off with good intentions only to find them fade away?

One thing is for sure; You are not alone.

Often with the new excitement of imagining change, we get off to a good start. But sustaining the change is a different story. As you have probably experienced, old habits die hard.

So what to do?

You need to embody your intention. This means imagining and identifying yourself with the change you want to make. If you want to exercise regularly, you need to define yourself as a person who exercises regularly. You need to become a person who exercises.

So take one of your resolutions, and imagine yourself being that person. Identify and absorb that image into yourself. Play around with this and see how it feels. As you take action on your resolution, breath it deeply into your body until you fully identify with it. Get excited about taking action again.

Enjoy being the person you want to become. Let it feel so good that you can’t imagine going back.

Happy New Year’s Resolution!
